The distance from Skoganvarre to the Arctic Ocean is about 30 kilometers. There are many good fishing destinations along the Porsanger fjord banks, maybe more at the west side shore. You can catch cod and coalfish anywhere where the sea front is deep enough. It is advisable to start fishing during the high tide. For example, the edge of the Kvalsund Bridge (ahead of Hammerfest), is a traditional place for sea fishing from the bank.
You can catch bigger cod and coalfish if you are fishing from a boat. Skoganvarre Turist & Camping is able to organize your boatfishing expedition, alone in a hired boat or in a bigger boat with a hired guide on the target you have chosen, for example Ret Våg, Veidnes, Alta, Hammerfest, etc.
Sea fishing is allowed without any fishing licenses. On the estuary of the salmon rivers, fishing is prohibited.
