In Skoganvarre the open water season lasts from the middle of May to the end of November. In Lake Øvrevatn the ice melts around the first week of June and in the upper side of the watercourse 1-6 weeks later.
Immediately after the ice melts, fish are a little bit of passive, likewise when the snow is melting in the fells and the icewater is flowing down to the watercourse.

In the river system grayling may be biting as early as May, but the best fishing season is between July and end of September. Depending on the weather, October and November may also be good times to experience fishing adventures.

Zone 5, upstream from Skoganvarre including River Vuolajokka, is a very good area for grayling fishing. We hope, that we can preserve those a few female salmon in upper watercourse of the River Lakselva. It is recommendable to rerelease female salmon caught in Zone 5 back into the water for breeding.
Zone 5 is not any more available for fishing all the year round.

The open water season lasts from May to the end of November.
Hooking is not allowed and each wild salmon must be released back into the water.
Fish species: Grayling, Trout, Pearch and Pike.
Boats and canoes are available for hire at Skoganvarre Turist & Camping.

Lake Gaggavatn is located about 3 kilometers southwest from Skoganvarre, and the northern parts of the lake lie on a military territory. Lake Gaggavatn is accessible by car and if nessessary, the boat is also available for hire.
Fish species: Arctic char and trout.

The River Luostejohka flowing into Lake Gaggavatn is a fine trout fishing water. If needed, we are able to organize customised "Fishing package tours", for example car transportation for fishermen and canoes up to the River Luostejohka upper course (through the military territory). Fishermen can then canoe and fish the river down to Lake Gaggavatn (a. 50 km). It takes about one week. The stream in the River Luostejohka is for the most part quite easy but about 10 kilometers ahead of Lake Gaggavatn, there is a rapid, where canoes must be carried along the bank.

Lake Savngujavri is about 9 kilometers south from Skoganvarre, and River Savngujohka, which flows out of the lake, is traditionally a good spot for catch grayling.

NOTICE! There is a fall about 4 kilometers downstream from Lake Savngujavri. The watercource below the fall is a part of River Lakselva Zone 5. (NOK 100,- / day).

If needed, we are able to organize a seaplane transport to Lake Jiesjavri, Lake Laevnasjavri or Lake Holmvann (Suolojavri).
Prices are available in Services price page.
